Appropriate usage of LOL

I am really really bored.

So I am going to write a journal about the use of the word "lol"

For the past few days I have been saying LOL at random times while laughing. Is this appropriate? I don't know, but what I do know is that I really don't care! So to all you random people out there that say lol in your facebook or msn chats cos you can't be bothered to say anything else, yes I'm looking at you! IT'S NOT APPOPRIATE!! When you say it are you actually laughing out loud or are you  just making the conversation longer?

So in conclusion, the next time you go to type lol think are you really laughing out loud?
